The shade selection and matching of restorations to the natural dentate may often be a confusing task, yet it remains the most critical in acceptance by our patients. Shade selection procedure to date remain subjective and non-systematic. However, when shades are observed and quantified using a repeatable 'step by-step' process, subjectivity is removed and consistency becomes the standard.

One of the most common reasons for remakes is shade. The evening lecture will give participants a new or enhanced perspective on a practical approach to shade determination and laboratory conveyance, reducing remakes and enhancing patient satisfaction.

The objective of this presentation is to give participants an improved awareness of:

  • Color theory and terminology
  • Proper technique
  • Spectrophotometer usage
  • Common mistakes
  • Live demonstration
  • The three pillars of shade determination
